Yap Cal uses AI to estimate calories based on typical serving sizes and nutrition data. For branded foods, we look up official nutrition information. Estimates are generally accurate within 10-20%, but may vary based on actual portion sizes and preparation methods.

Why isn't voice input working?

Make sure you've granted microphone permissions to Yap Cal in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Also ensure Speech Recognition is enabled in Settings > Privacy & Security > Speech Recognition.

Where is my data stored?

All your food logs and data are stored locally on your device. We don't upload your data to any cloud service. Voice recordings are processed on-device and never leave your phone.

Can I edit a logged entry?

Currently, you can delete entries by swiping left on them in the daily summary view. To correct an entry, delete it and log the item again.

How do I change my calorie goal?

Tap the settings icon (gear) in the top left corner of the app to access Settings, where you can adjust your daily calorie and macro goals.

Tip: For best results, be specific when describing your food. Instead of "sandwich," try "turkey sandwich with cheese on wheat bread" for more accurate estimates.
